    Welcome to African Naturalistas. This blog was created on 16 August 2011, in order to assist black women and men who have chosen to wear their natural hair, with special emphasis on Africans, because of the challenges they face in carrying natural hair, though the site is of great benefit to naturalistas all over the world. African Naturalistas is run by a group natural hair lovers, who have decided to help other naturalistas scale the hurdles they may come across in their hair journey. We also manufacture our range of hair care products, which you can purchase here. The African Naturalistas Team 1. @ilola - Founder/Contributor @ilola is a Writer, Editor, Blogger, and Spoken Word Artist. She is currently one of the leading female faces in the Spoken Word sector in Nigeria. She is also an author of two book, Antonyms of a Mirage and Fpr Laff's Sake, and greatly in love with natural hair, and everything that has to do with it. From her day job as a Data Performance Analyst, an at-large job in Social Media Marketing to sprinkles of acting, she began blogging in 2011 (Aje-Butter's Guide to NYSC and Berry Dakara). She went natural in late 2006 and hasn't looked back since. She currently lives in Nigeria, after 14 years of living in the US and considers herself a citizen of the world. 3. Irene Loderick - Style Expert Irene Odipo Loderick is a 36 year old Kenyan naturalista who went natural four years ago, and has no intention of looking back! She currently resides in London with her husband and three year old bundle of hyper energy, her son JJ. She worked as an Air Hostess before settling down to take care of her son full time. She enjoy natural Hair Care and Styling, and started her YouTube Channel in 2012. She is sure an entertaining host, as natural hair styling is her passion, Her passion is to see the natural hair movement continue to grow in Africa. Tomilola Akibo - Contributor Tomi embraced the challenge of getting healthy hair, without questions, and its been amazing and amazing journey for her.
