    Hello, I’m Merle, and I run Beauty Bombshells. I’ve been a professional journalist since, whisper it, 1993, and when I grow up I want to be a novelist. I am working on that, slowly. I was named after Hollywood Bombshell, Merle Oberon, and perhaps that fuelled my love of all things yesteryear. I am an official Beauty School Drop out – I didn’t complete my qualification in the late 1980s, but I found my way back to beauty in the late 1990s, and have been a beauty journalist for about 14 years. I am also a former Fashion Editor of a national newspaper. I’ve had my work published in many places – Daily Mail, Daily Record, Cosmopolitan, Best, Scotsman, Herald, Scotland on Sunday and so on. I love the glamorous golden age of Hollywood, and in particular, red lipstick. I started wearing it when I was 14, and fell in love with Marilyn Monroe. I like cats, rummaging around charity shops, the 1970s, the colour orange, hair dye, and, of course, red lipstick. I started Bombshells as a place to blog about movie stars, beauty and vintage glamour. I hope you love reading it as much as I love writing it!
