    The Lower Mainland Children’s Directory The Children’s Directory was started in March 2007 by two moms who saw a void in the marketplace. After countless hours searching the internet for play groups and activities to participate in with their newborns and preschoolers they realized that there wasn’t any one place that a parent or caregiver could go to see what was happening in their neighbourhood. The Children’s Directory was born and quickly grew to become a trusted source of local events, shops and services available to parents and caregivers in the Lower Mainland. “Our goal was to create a directory that would focus on local businesses, services and events geared to children and young families in the Lower Mainland. From Surrey, East to Chilliwack and South to White Rock.” -Kristie Pool In 2009 Kristie Pool one of the founding mommas left the company to have her third child and Jennifer Erickson became the go to mom for all Children’s Directory readers and partners. As both the Publisher and the Managing Director Jennifer has changed the look and format of the Children’s Directory to include a highly visible blog and social media presence. The Children’s Directory has also expanded their boundaries to cover Whistler to Hope and is working to expand to Vancouver Island and the Okanagan in the coming months. The Children’s Directory is always looking for new and exciting ways to be involved in the community and maintains a presence at all local goings on. We have been featured in the Province Newspaper, on Market Mommy, Mom Entrepreneur, Natural Mommie, Bargain Moose and more. We regularly sponsor community events such as the Parental Guidance Conference, Once Upon a Belly Tradeshow, Movies for Mommies, Sweetpea Pageants and the annual Spring Fling Autism Awareness Fundraiser to name a few.
