CineVue is an award-winning UK film site packed with the very latest movie news, reviews, previews, interviews and trailers from the world of cinema. Founded in April 2010 and described as "Young and fresh" by Total Film, CineVue is one of the UK's fastest growing film criticism hubs and also enjoys a varied international audience. Our team of passionate cinéastes and cinephiles work to bring you the very best in content, from regular columns and weekly reviews of the latest theatrical and DVD/Blu-ray releases, to special features and international film festival coverage. As an independent film site, our aim is to reach out to the largest audience possible, whilst also highlighting and championing some of the more diverse and less known new releases from the world of cinema. We can only do this with your help and support, so please feel free to add your comments. In addition, you can email the CineVue team at editor[at]cine-vue.com with your questions and suggestions. Daniel Green Editor editor[at]cine-vue.com Daniel is a freelance writer, film critic and editor of CineVue. After working on a number of independent UK documentaries including Three Miles North of Molkom and Starsuckers, Daniel went on to found CineVue back in April 2010. An OFCS member, Daniel has previously contributed to publications including Film3Sixty, Little White Lies and Time Out. Joe Walsh Deputy Editor deputyeditor[at]cine-vue.com Joe is a dedicated cinephile and freelance film critic who also contributes to Film3Sixty, Film4.com and Little White Lies. As a child he became obsessed with film when put in front of classics such Bridge Over the River Kwai and Singin' in the Rain. His favourite directors are an eclectic mix of Orson Welles, Akira Kurosawa and Michelangelo Antonioni. Patrick Gamble patrickgamble[at]cine-vue.com Patrick is an award-nominated writer and a self-confessed cinéaste with an unflinching adoration for Eastern European cinema and is currently researching cinematic representations of 'The Troubles' in film. Patrick has also previously written for publications including Indiewire, The Skinny and Grolsch Film Works. His favourite movies are Stalker, All That Heaven Allows and Werckmeister Harmonies Ben Nicholson bennicholson[at]cine-vue.com Ben is a freelance film writer and critic who also contributes to publications such as Vérité Film Magazine and New Empress. Having always been enamoured with the silver screen, he is voracious consumer of cinema - at home with hulking blockbusters as much as contemplative art house fare. A sucker for happy endings, his favourite films include The Third Man, In the Mood For Love and Last Year at Marienbad. Carol-Mei Barker Interviews Carol-Mei researches, lectures and writes about film, and has also been published on Chinese independent cinema. She fosters unhealthy obsessions with dilapidated urban landscapes, British social realism and Edward Norton's magnificent goatee in Spike Lee's 25th Hour. Like her role model, Seinfeld's George Costanza, in another life she'd have been an architect. John Bleasdale John Bleasdale is a British writer living and working in Italy, and regularly attends both Cannes and Venice Film Festival. His interest in cinema started with Norman Tokar's The Cat from Outer Space and almost ended with Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck's The Tourist. Despite this hiccup, he has published work on Terrence Malick, as well as popular Hollywood films and independent cinema. His blog, entitled A Success Shaped Hole Called Failure, which can be found here. Lee Cassanell leecassanell[at]cine-vue.com Lee spent an idyllic childhood immersed in such underrated classics as My Demon Lover, Dead Heat, Maniac Cop and James Signorelli's seminal masterpiece Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. Lee gained regional notoriety as chief writer for the arts and culture magazine Tenfoot City and is one of the longest-standing members of the CineVue team. Edward Frost Edward is an enthusiastic, wannabe professional film journalist brought up on a healthy pedigree of John Hughes gems and Woody Allen classics. His point of no return was watching Allen's Manhattan, and he hasn't looked back since, honing his passion for all things cinema. When he isn't contributing to CineVue and studying for his Film Studies degree at Anglia Ruskin University he writes for his own blog, which can be found here. Adam Lowes Adam is a life-long fan of cinema, having obtained a degree in Film & Moving Image at the Northern Film School in Leeds before making the move to London - where he consequently bumbled along for a few years as a production assistant on poor quality, episodic television shows. He also writes for friends of the site HeyUGuys and Vérité Film Magazine, as well as occasionally contributing to Den of Geek and ShortList Magazine. David Sugarman David is a graduate of the University of Warwick, where he studied film theory. He also spends rather too much of his time complaining about the success of fellow writer and director Rob Savage, about whom he has very little positive to say (though do check him out). When not watching films, David enjoys writing about films, talking about great films, complaining about rubbish films and reading books, comics and safety labels on tinned goods. Harriet Warman Harriet is a freelance film programmer, writer and critic who has previously contributed to publications including Sight & Sound and The Flaneur and written essays for Second Run DVD and the Physical Impossibility zine. Raised on Mike Leigh and Gene Kelly, Harriet's passion for cinema is extensive with favourites including Bong Joon-ho's The Host, Jeanne Dielman, 23 Quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles and Harvey. Craig Williams Craig is a passionate lifelong cinephile based in North London. He is a devotee of repertory cinema whose principal areas of interest are Golden Age Hollywood and French cinema. As well as reviewing for CineVue, he contributes essays to Kubrick on the Guillotine and Periodical. His favourite directors are Orson Welles, Eric Rohmer and Alfred Hitchcock. You can find Craig on Twitter most hours of the day as @craigfilm.
