In 2004, Holly Becker launched decor8 (pronounced decorate) as a small interior design studio in Boston and in 2006, a blog under the same name was born. Today, decor8 includes three international best-selling interiors books under the “Decorate” series published by Chronicle Books and Jacqui Small Publishing, Blogging Your Way e-courses and workshops where she has taught over 8,000 students worldwide, business consulting services for companies large and small in North America, the UK and Germany and of course, her blog which attracts a global audience and 1.2 million monthly page views. In addition to decor8, Holly is a stylist and journalist. She has contributed to HGTV, Domino, Real Simple, The Boston Globe, Boston magazine, Where Women Create Business, Mollie Makes and Sweet Paul. Holly has written forewords for Happy Home by Charlotte Hedeman Gueniau, Furniture Makeovers by Barb Blair, Wohnideen aus dem wahren Leben by Petra Harms and Petit Collage by Lorena Siminovich. She has abeen quoted on the jackets of and/or contributed work to Handmade Living by Lotta Jansdotter, The Handmade Marketplace by Kari Chapin, Appliqué Your Way by Kayte Terry, Blogging For Bliss by Tara Frey, Little Stitches by Amy Butler, Creatively Self-Employed by Kristen Fischer and the soon-to-release Elements of Style by Erin Gates. Holly is a wife and new mother living and working in Hannover, Germany with an additional office in Portsmouth, New Hampshire USA. Currently working on her forth decorating book, she’s actively seeking to design a line of lifestyle, office, decorating and craft products aimed at creative women who love surrounding themselves with inspiring, meaningful things. Together they produce Food In Motion for decor8 since April 2013, a once-monthly food video and recipe showing how a dish or dessert comes together from start to finish, in 2 minutes or less. These talented friends and colleagues also blog together at Liz & Jewels where they challenge each other to cook, style and photograph the same dish without knowing what the other is doing, and then they share the outcome on their blog. Interior design journalist and stylist Holly Marder from Avenue Lifestyle writes about style, interiors, food and lifestyle on her blog and for major European magazines. Born in South Africa, Holly emigrated to Australia at the age of 11 and has spent the last 7 years living in Europe, where she met her Dutch husband. Based in Delft, the Netherlands, Holly photographs Dutch homes with a focus on family life. She shares the fruits of her labor once monthly on decor8 through a series of home tours called Homes With Heart.
