Visiting the best Hotels in Caribbean, Hawaii and Bermuda and producing Travel Guides for Governments and Areas, Joel came up with idea to create his own magazine. In 1993 Joel published a magazine for brides and event planners – Locations Magazine – with venues and catering facilities for Weddings, Bar Mitzvah, birthdays, celebrations, corporate functions and social gatherings. Locations Magazine was distributed in the New York tri-state area and was rebranded to Event Locations in 2011. Locations Magazine was written up by the New York Times in a major editorial.
