- Key DifferentiatorEditor-in-Chief SHARON GREHAN-HOWES, aka (Sharon Jeffcock) originally an improvisational comedian, trained at The Second City Toronto and has performed at all major and minor (sometimes very, very minor) comedy clubs in the city and surrounding areas. She has appeared in short films, television, provided voices for cartoons, and was a teacher at The Improv School. She founded HappyWomanMagazine.com in 2000 and her work featured heavily in the HW anthology "Random Acts of Malice." She colloborated with Elise Gravel on Nunuche (a French Happy Woman) and she is putting the finishing touches on her novel "Jenna: An Extraordinary Woman in Ordinary Times an Unathuthorized Autobiorgraphy" She lives in Toronto with her husband Wynn and George and Lyle, professional cats. Senior Editors DEBRA VICTOROFF'S humor essays have appeared in Penthouse, Cosmopolitan and The Village Voice as well as broadcast on National Public Radio. Her plays have been performed around the country and her one-act comedy, "Table for Two" was recently published in "The Best Plays of the Strawberry Festival". She honed her humor skills on "Sex and the City", entertaining the music crew with her constant complaints about working in the wrong department. She is celebrating the release of "House and Garden" her criticically acclaimed work available at MUSA Publishing. CHRISTINA DELIA holds a BFA in Writing for Film and Television from The University of The Arts in Philadelphia. She is a freelance writer of humourous essays, fiction, screenplays and poetry. Christina likes her problems rare and her men well done. She plans to one day join the legions of estrogen-happy writers who put the "ick" in Chick Lit, or even better, the "hick" in Chick Lit! That said, Christina hopes that her yet-to-be released novel, "Sally Joe Puts Her Hoe Down (At The Hoedown)" will be a success. Associate Editors PAMELA BONGIORNO MONK is a full time faculty member of Penn State University, where she teaches creative writing, both fiction and non fiction. She pursues freelance writing, authoring plays and feature articles. She has broken nearly as many rules of family as she has enforced. KATE HEIDEL is a freelance writer living in Minneapolis. Her work includes humor essays and poetry, genres so incompatible that Kate's resulting inner turmoil can only be soothed by frequent shopping trips to Designer Shoe Warehouse. PAMELA MILLER saves the world by day, writes by night, and wishes she could find a hotter place to live than Phoenix. The world is simply too cold. LOULOU de la PAUMARDIERE first came to public attention when several of the high-profile Paris-based foreign women on whom she performed makeovers committed suicide. Her family operates the majority of the uniquely French institutions known as Centres d'aide par le travail, or CATS, factories in which handicapped French citizens are employed at less than minimum wage because, as Loulou puts it with her typical Cartesian clarity, "they are handicapped." Her ancestral home, Château de la Paumardiere in Boilly-sur-Gui, an hour from Paris in Normandy, has hosted every head of state since Louis XIV and was a favorite haunt of Lully the Sodomite. She continues that great tradition of French hospitality on weekends in Boilly and during the week at her luxurious mansion at 60, rue de Varenne in Paris. ELIZABETH HANES holds a degree in creative writing from the University of New Mexico. She writes about art and antiques (hard to believe, eh?) for a variety of publications. She is also the long-suffering personal secretary of Savannah Lawless. (www.savannahsays.com) She resides in New Mexico with her husband, two faithful pooches and a pair of surly cats. ELAINE LANGLOIS is a writer and editor and a native of New England. Contributors JESSICA BECHT is resides in the state of Florida, where she has become quite intimate with election fiascos, hurricanes, and fire ants. When not shielding her alabaster complexion from the sun's brutal rays, she can be found strolling her baby about the neighborhood while silently mocking pink flamingo enthusiasts. MIKE BOONE graduated from the Visual Language Interpreter Training program and published an article, "Interpreting: The Development of the Profession", in an alternative communication magazine. He went on to have humour pieces published in the likes of Rampike magazine and the Knucklehead Press. You can locate his screenplay parody in the March 1, 2004 issue of the online Ezine, Fools Motley. In 1998 he won first prize in the comedy category of the American Songwriting Competition. He's just finished his first book, Mike Boone's Guide to Dieting, a send up of diet/fitness books. CRYSTAL CLICK; wife, writer, over-the-top mom, lives in a teeny-tiny house in rural Washington with her husband and five children. She took up writing because it was the only hobby she knew of that didn't take up floor space. STEPHEN JAMES'S past and current life can be summed up in five bullet points, of which two are just padding. He lives in London, which is a large town about fifteen miles from St. Alban's. He believes that most problems between men and women can be solved by sitting down at the piano and singing some showtunes. A traditional home-loving anarchist with an unnatural penchant for honey he loves a challenge, but not a fight. MEREDITH LITT in Connecticut with her equally sarcastic husband. She graduated from Quinnipiac University with a degree in English and is currently pursuing a career in publishing. SUSAN SHOEMAKER a former flight instructor and air traffic controller, now spends most of her time looking for her car keys. She lives and writes in southern Wisconsin, but would much prefer to spend winters drinking and writing in the south of France. If you bothered to read this far, please contact all the publishers you know and tell them to send her money. Send it to her directly because since that incident involving the Fantasy Chippendale League, she no longer trusts the staff here at HW. Even though it was just a joke and she got her money back. DIANE SOKOLOSKI earned a BA in music and BEd as an Artist in the Community. She has performed in children's theatre, political theatre, musical theatre, puppet shows, stand-up comedy and yes- as a street busker. Diane's writing credits include numerous magazines, including Toronto's NOW magazine. and The National Post. Diane had brief experiences as a police officer and a high school teacher but her psychiatrist advises against talking about it. Diane is working on a children's book based on a true story about a skink who travelled across North America in a lunch box. SARAH W. SZUCS is a writer of comedy and satire. She spends much of her time scribbling writing ideas on her never-ending list "Can I Quit My Day Job Now?" The rest of Sarah's time is spent as a Happy Woman somewhere in a rural part of the United States. JULIE WARD lives with her husband and two sons in Austin, Texas. Her essays and short fiction have appeared in the Austin American-Statesman, the Breckenridge American, Calliope and New Delta Review.
