I’m Sonja Shin, a writer, TV reporter and producer and on-camera talent based in St. Louis (previously in San Francisco where I did a lot of beauty blogging for many years). hello beauty focuses on wellness, happiness and beauty with lots of reviews, makeup lesson videos, tips and tricks, giveaways and interviews with the pros and a bit of fashion and style thrown in too. I’m passionate about sharing information that empowers, inspires and uplifts. I specialize in reporting health/medical and technology news, and studied science journalism at Northwestern. I host Edward Jones financial advice videos, appear on Fox 2 News as a beauty expert guest, share self-help interviews and beauty lesson videos on YouTube (these videos have been viewed about a half million times), am an on-call field producer for NBC Network News, and report for the Emmy Award-winning arts/culture/education channel HEC-TV in St. Louis. I reported for KPIX-TV (CBS) in San Francisco, KIRO-TV (CBS) in Seattle and KPLR-TV in St. Louis. I researched and field produced for NBC Nightly News, The Today Show and Sunrise in New York. I hosted The Healthy Beauty, a daily health and beauty talk radio show on 1380 AM The Woman in St. Louis. I also write about beauty and wellness as the National Beauty Products Examiner and the St. Louis Beauty and Wellness Examiner for Examiner.com. I previously wrote about beauty for The Coveted, a top fashion blog. Product Reviews I review a variety of products.
