Hiveworks is an Internet-based collective studio that helps webcomic and online media creators turn their creative endeavors into sustainable businesses. We serve as mentors and a home for many comics, and we hope to grow into a household name. Audience is the greatest resource a webcomic creator has. Hiveworks assists creators in making their webcomic more sustainable by increasing the comic's readership through ads and network websites while managing ads on the comic's site to generate revenue. Simply by visiting comics on our network, the readers are supporting the creators of those comics. We also offer other services such as help with Kickstarters, book design, merchandising, hosting, web design, and convention attendance. Many veteran creators don't require those services, but our team is always at the ready in case one of our members or affiliates needs a hand. Hiveworks was founded in late 2011 by Joseph "Jojo" Stillwell. Since then, we have teamed up with the best artists we could find to turn Hiveworks a supportive collective. Joseph works closely with our techs, Erin Burt and Kisai, Co-Ceo Isabelle Melançon, and several other members to develop and administer Hiveworks. Want to advertise on our network? You specify your budget (say $100/mo), send us your information (see 'How do I sign up?'), and we do the rest! Unlike other sites, your ads will not be 'diluted' - that is, if you pay $50/mo for advertising, you will get the same number of ads shown - regardless of how many other advertisers there are. Want your ad shown more often? Simply increase your budget! What size does my ad need to be? Our main advertising slot is the 728x90px leaderboard at the top of our pages. This leaderboard is shown on all thumbnail pages as well as all view image pages. The price for this ad slot is $0.50 per thousand ads shown. We also offer 160x600, 300x250, 468x60, and 160x347 as standard ad sizes. I want to advertise on multiple sites at once! Want to advertise across the entire network at once? What are the restrictions on ad content and what I'm linking to? JPGs and animated GIFs are accepted (please try to keep file size under 100KB; Photoshop's 'save for web' is good for this). We allow advertisers of 'mature' services within reason; adult content in ads is acceptable, just please keep the ads themselves safe for work. (Not all sites will be able to run these.) How much does it cost? However much or as little as you'd like! We have a minimum monthly budget of $50/mo, and at our standard pricing of $0.50 per thousand ads shown, this equates to 100,000 ads shown for $50. If you have an important campaign you want to reach a large number of visitors, we recommend a minimum budget of $100/mo.
