    I never know how to write these things without seeming like I am some highfalutin blogger who sits around thinking up adjectives to describe herself all day. Or just a plain old doofus. So let's see how this sounds. Hi, welcome to my blog. I'm glad you stopped by. My name is Pam and I am an over 50ish (you have no idea how hard that was to put in writing, because I feel like I'm 32) gal who lives in the depths of Ohio and loves to mix vintage items into my modern life. I am married and have a 15 year old son that you will probably never hear me blog about. My son is the light of my life, the apple of my eye and the air that I breath, but when you have a child with special needs you often find that you need a creative outlet for yourself and this is my outlet for all things non-mommy and non-disabilities related. In my previous life I was an accountant, but have been a stay at home Mom for the last 3 years. Not sure if that is a permanent career move or not, because I change my mind depending on the season. Summer is definitely a SAHM season. Oh, and I also have a weird sense of humor, so if you are expecting a staid, dignified blog about fine antiques, you're in the wrong place. Some of the things that I blog about are: Vintage Items: Since I was a child, I have been attracted to vintage and antique items that have had a hard life. To me, the more rusty or chippy something is the better. It just means that it has had previous experience and was well loved. I try to mix these vintage, chippy items into my home in an attractive way so they don't stick out like a sore thumb. Garage Sale, Thrift Store and Estate Sale Finds: Because I am all for a great deal. I find the vast majority of my vintage goodies at ridiculously low prices. And you can too. There is no excuse for paying fancy schmancy antique store prices when you don't have to. Gardening: I have been hooked on gardening ever since I planted my first petunia as a child. I'll take you along on my journey to brighten up my little corner of the heartland and maybe introduce you to some plants that you haven't used before. Of course, this being Ohio, I'm not able to garden year round :(. Typewriters, Vintage Cameras and China Dogs: What do those three things have in common? I sort of get a little obsessed with collecting certain things and those are the top three things on my list to find when I'm out thrifting right now. And I'll wrestle you down to the ground if we're eyeing those same things at the same thrift store:) I'll occasionally throw in a post about decorating, furniture refinishing, a craft project, photography or my pets. Basically, I figure it's my blog and I can cry if I want to throw random stuff in if I want to. So there it is in a nutshell. A really big nutshell.
