Indigenous Australia has been online since the late 1990's. The site was originally planned as an important addition to the unique independent guide to Australia, FrogandToad - now called Travel Around Australia.
Indigenous culture, history and politics had always been planned for, but as FrogandToad was written from its' original owner's experiences of traveling Australia, it soon became clear that the subject matter of the history and culture of Australia's original inhabitants could not be reiterated from books and deserved a dedicated site. Hence the Indigenous Australia site was born.
Used for information and research by students and educational institutions worldwide, the Indigenous Australia has quickly established itself as a valuable resource on Aboriginal art, history and culture in Australia.
2009 sees Indigenous Australia relaunched as "indigenousAustralia.info" with a new, fresh look and added features. In addition, a freely downloadable .pdf version of the site will soon be made available, along with a number of other features including downloadable educational resources and curriculum information for use by students and educational institutions worldwide.
