Los Angeles has chronicled life in the second-largest U.S. city since the magazine’s founding by Geoff Miller in the spring of 1961. The definitive resource for Angelenos, Los Angeles covers the people, food, culture, arts and entertainment, fashion, lifestyle, and news that defines Southern California with a signature mix of feature-length writing, service journalism, investigative reporting, and design. Led by editor-in-chief Mary Melton, the magazine is the recipient of three National Magazine Awards in addition to numerous other industry honors (you can see all of the magazine’s award-winning content here). With more than 800,000 monthly readers and 140,000 monthly subscribers, Los Angeles is the only local publication with 100% paid and verified readership. - Key DifferentiatorThere have been many historic and defining moments since Los Angeles magazine first hit newsstands in 1961: some outrageous, some tragic, and many triumphant. Like the city we celebrate, Los Angeles magazine has endured them all. We’ve grown and developed, earning accolades and awards, and a devoted and powerful readership along the way. Today, the magazine is the authority on what to do, where to go, and what to buy for its affluent and active readers. In a place where trends are set and fame is fleeting, two truths remain: defining moments are around the corner, and Los Angeles magazine will capture them all.
