Monochrome is dedicated to fine watches. Haute Horlogerie, Independent Watchmaking and interesting vintage timepieces is what makes our hearts, here at Monochrome, beat faster. In 2006 I started Monochrome dedicated to share the most interesting watches and explain the beauty of highly complicated (mechanical) timepieces. The reason for this is that after years of searching the internet for quality information, nice watches and reading and posting on the large watch forums, I wanted to create a single point of information where watch lovers can find the most interesting watches of both the big brands and small independent watchmakers. Another reason is to explain, educate and share passion for the technical complex aspects (and beauty) of Haute Horlogerie. When it comes to complicated timepieces, it seems that people expect that everyone understands the beauty of a constant force mechanism and knows exactly what a tourbillon does and how it works. Because not everyone knows every fine detail, I will make an effort to explain everything in a way that it becomes easy to understand. Over the past 6 years Monochrome has grown to become one of the defining blogs and is read by watch aficionados from all over the world (more then 50,000 every month). Monochrome has a small team of passionate and knowledgable contributors and I’m happy to introduce them to you.
