RCI fans offers the latest cruise news as well as reliable advice based upon knowledge and personal experience, cruise reviews writen by us and our members, cruise photos, videos, interesting facts, downloads and much more. The voyage so far... Jordan Bailey is the Founder of Royal Caribbean Fans. He is 17 and lives in East Yorkshire, England. He started the site in 2009, after cruising on his first cruise on board Independence of the Seas. He loved it so much, he created a dedicated fan site about Royal Caribbean. The site started with just a few blog posts and pictures. With the arrival of Oasis of the Seas in December 2009, The whole team cruised on her in January 2010. It was after this cruise, that Jordan developed the site further and added his own cruise photos, advice and regular news stories. Exactly 1 year after his first cruise, Jordan sailed on Independence for the second time. 3 months later, he cruised on Independence of the Seas yet again! By this time, Jordan had experienced the cruise lifestyle and joined the social network site, Twitter in November 2010. This exposed the site and earned loyal followers to the site. In 2011, Jordan became a guest blogger on LoveCruise.co.uk. February 2011, saw Royal Caribbean Fans win the 'best cruise fan site 2011' award from Cruisers Awards. In September 2011, Jordan was a guest on the cruise podcast series, CruizeCast (Episode 15). Around this time Jordan also became co-blogger on mikeyscruiseblog.com with fellow teen cruiser, Mike Faust. In December, RCI fans won 'the best cruise website' category in the 2011 Cruisey Awards presented by Mikey's Cruise Blog where readers had to vote for their choice. In October 2011, Jordan, Jason and Joan cruised on Grandeur of the Seas around Spain. In November 2011, Jordan purchased a website domain name. This would allow RCI fans to expand and create a more professional approach. In early 2012, Royal Caribbean Fans launched 'RCI fans On The Go.' A mobile application which allows readers to view cruise news, tweets, photos and videos all in a mobile friendly way. June 2012 saw Jordan and Joan sail on 2 cruises. Brilliance of the Seas around the Norwegian Fjords and also their first non-RCI cruise on board P&O's Oceana, also around the spectacular Norwegian Fjords. Jason and John also cruised with Jordan and Joan on the Brilliance of the Seas and was joined by first time Royal Caribbean cruiser Janet. On 21st September 2012, Jordan went down to Southampton to meet Patricia Dempsey (linerlovers.com) and Dan Gosling (SatNavDan on YouTube) to participate in 'Ship Stalking' Vision of the Seas, when she made a visit to the port. The 20th-21st October 2012 was the Telegraph CRUISE Show at the NEC in Birmingham. Royal Caribbean Fans were given press tickets to attend the show as well as being allowed to give discounted tickets to fans. In November 2012, Royal Caribbean announced the first RCF AWARDS. Cruisers were able to vote for their favourite ship features as well as their favourite cruise sites and innovations. Voting closed on 27th December and the winners of each category were announced on 28th December. Jordan and Joan departed Malaga on NCL's Norwegian Spirit on 11th February for a 9-night cruise to the Canaries. Jordan described the cruise as 'on par with Royal Caribbean and in some areas far exceeding expectations.' Jordan and Joan cruised on board Island Escape for 7 nights on 26th March from Palma De Mallorca to Italy. lsland Escape is the ex-Royal Caribbean fleet member 'Viking Serenade'. On 18th April, rcifans.com was featured in the Hull Daily Mail newspaper. The paper attracts approx. 170,000 daily readers in the East Yorkshire area. The article showcased Jordan's passion for cruising. You can read the article online here. Thanks to the publicity of the site in the newspaper, Steve Williams, head of sales for Royal Caribbean International UK as well as the PR team for Royal Caribbean invited Jordan down to Harwich to tour the newly revitalised Brilliance of the Seas for a special 1 night VIP Cruise on 14th May. The cruise featured top selling travel agents, cruise specialists, loyal guests and VIPs. You can read the review of the revitalised Brilliance of the Seas here and photos here. Jordan and Joan also met Derek Marks, a television presenter for the Holiday & Cruise Channel, whilst on board. The site was showcased by Derek a week later on the channel. Jordan and Joan cruised on board Adventure of the Seas on 24th May 2013 for a 7-night cruise to Spain and France. Team member, Jason was invited on board Princess Cruises' newest and largest vessel, Royal Princess on 8th June for an overnight Travel Agent event. On 9th July, Jordan and Joan returned to P&O Cruises and set sailed on board Azura for a 17-night voyage taking in some of the best sights in the Mediterranean including Dubrovnik, Venice and Valletta. 23rd - 25th August was our Ship Stalking Extravaganza event in Southampton. Jordan stayed in Southampton for 3 days to stalk Independence of the Seas, Adventure of the Seas, MSC Opera and many more vessels! As part of the extravaganza, we visited Fred Olsen Cruise Line's Balmoral, viewing the cabins and main areas. The day after the extravaganza, Jordan and Joan cruised on board Fred Olsen Cruises Line's Boudicca for a 4-night cruise from Liverpool to Cobh and Dublin on 26th August. Richard Cross and John Cooper from the Holiday and Cruise Channel wished Jordan a fabulous cruise on board Celebrity Eclipse during the Cruise@5 programme on Friday 13th September. Jordan once again attended the CRUISE Show 2013 in Birmingham and met John Cooper from the Holiday and Cruise Channel, as well as Steve Williams, head of sales at Royal Caribbean International UK. The 20th October 2013 saw Jason, John and Jordan sail on a 14-night Canary and Azores cruise on board Celebrity Eclipse, due to a storm in the Bay of Biscay, it was decided by the Captain to cancel our call at Ponta Delgada in the Azores and instead head for Vigo. Jordan and Joan returned to Fred Olsen Cruise Lines for an 8 night cruise on 13th December 2013 to the Baltic, Kiel Canal and Belgium on board Balmoral. RCI fans tweet regarding a man jumping overboard Adventure of the Seas was featured by the Daily Mail newspaper. Jordan and Joan returned to Norwegian Cruise Lines to try out Norwegian Getaway on a 1-night taster cruise on 14th January 2014. Jordan and Joan sailed from Tenerife on Valentines Day to the Canary Islands on board Thomson Celebration. On 28th February 2014, RCI fans co-hosted #CLU, a Twitter community chat for cruise fans, managed by Cruise Voyant. The sessions theme was Shore Excursions. Jordan and Joan sailed on board Cruise & Maritime's Discovery from Hull on 26th March for a 10-night British Isles cruise. They visited ports such as Edinburgh, Shetland Isles, Belfast and Dover. In April, RCI fans was approached to take part in a research report conducted by Blueshift Research, analyzing the cruise industry. It was great fun taking part and some interesting things were learnt along the way. To view the report click here. Jordan and Joan returned to P&O's Oceana for a 7-night cruise to France on 19th April. During the cruise they visited St Nazaire, the construction home for Royal Caribbean's Oasis 3. Jason and John headed out of Port Canaveral on 27th April 2014 on board Freedom of the Seas for a Western Caribbean cruise. Jordan and Joan sailed with Alfie Boe on board P&O's Azura departing 26th May to Zeebrugge and Guernsey. Watch Alfie Boe's performance here. On the horizon... Jordan and Joan will be heading for Scandinavia and Russia on board P&O's Azura for 14 nights on 29th June. They will also see Brilliance of the Seas and Legend of the Seas during their cruise. Jordan will be heading to Harwich on 26th July to visit Brilliance of the Seas with Dream Designs Colchester. Jordan and Joan will sail on a 14-night cruise departing 23rd August on board Independence of the Seas, visiting places such as; Vigo, Cadiz, Valencia, Barcelona and Lisbon. Jordan will be watching Oasis of the Seas arrive into Southampton on 15th October 2014. Jordan, Joan and Jason will be reunited with Independence of the Seas as they sail out of Southampton on the 25th October for a 3-night cruise to Zeebrugge and Le Havre. 3 'cruise virgins' will also be sailing with them. Jordan is hoping to be invited to tour the latest ship to join the Royal Caribbean fleet, Quantum of the Seas, when she makes a call into Southampton on 2nd November 2014. Adventure of the Seas will also be in port that day as well as Independence the day before. Jordan will be cruising on board Explorer of the Seas from Southampton on 25th May 2015 to Brugge and Le Havre. Jordan and Jason will take a cruise on Anthem of the Seas departing 25th October 2015 for 3 nights from Southampton.
