Steward Health Care System LLC is a fully integrated health care system that offers a complete range of health care services to patients in Massachusetts. Steward includes 3,000 physicians, 10 hospital campuses, 24 affiliated urgent care providers, 6 ambulatory surgery centers, home care, hospice, Tele-ICU and other services. The system earns approximately $2.4 billion in net patient service revenues, excluding any premium based revenue, and serves more than one million patients annually in more than 150 communities.

Steward is widely recognized as a national leader in implementing a new model of integrated health care delivery. Steward’s model takes care of patients from wellness and care management all the way through their end of life. To this end, Steward functions as an integrated care organization with over 90 percent of its commercial lives and over 80,000 Medicare members in the Medicare Pioneer ACO under a form of global payment. Steward also puts at risk a substantial amount of its revenue based on Quality outcomes. By providing health care services in a coordinated and more efficient manner, Steward is able to control costs while dramatically improving quality, eliminating care fragmentation and reducing duplication of services in the delivery of health care.
