Acceptable File Types: Following is the list of all acceptable file types (formats): PDF, TIF, JPEG, or EPS (All layers should be flattened prior to submission) Recommended Design Applications We recommend the following for maximum design and print quality results. Files should be exported as one of the following formats: High Resolution PDF, JPEG, TIF, or EPS. If you are designing your ad for submission, we recommend you use Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, or Adobe In Design, however any program will work as long as it allows you to save a final high resolution file (300 dpi) as a PDF, JPEG, TIF, or EPS. Resolution of Files We require a resolution of 300 dpi or higher on submitted files such as TIF and JPEG. (In vector-based files such as an Adobe Illustrator EPS, resolution is irrelevant and files can be reduced or enlarged to almost any size without loosing print quality.) Acceptable Media or File Transfer Files can be emailed to: thebaptistbanner@cox.net with specified print size needed and any special notes. If your file is very large and gives you trouble when trying to email it, we would recommend that it be compressed with a program such as WinZip or StuffIt prior to Email. If that is not possible, a CD ROM can be mailed to General T. C. Pinckney at The Baptist Banner, 8601 Buckboard Drive, Alexandria, VA 22308, to be submitted with the next or future issues. Artwork Size We recommend files be submitted at 100% final print size. If not possible you may also design and save your graphic files at 50% (400-600 dpi) of final print size. (Please indicate final output size when your submitting file). Banner Ad Size Guidelines When creating your custom ad design layout, please follow these steps for the best results: • Full size ad is placed on a 5.5" x 8.5" page with a quarter inch (.25") border on all sides. So, final full page ad design should measure 5" x 8". Price of a full page ad is $440. • A half page ad measures: 5" x 3.875" Price of a half page ad is $220. • For ads of any height up to 8" high, the width of one column is: 1.7425". *Current Rates are $28.00 per column inch per issue. Ads running for four or more consecutive issues will receive a discount of approximately 4%. NOTE: *Please verify all ad prices with The Baptist Banner. Thank you. -- Note: I do not bill in even inches only, but in quarter inch increments. That is, if your ad measures 2 1/2 inches your cost is 2.5 x $28. Text only copy: Send to the mail or e-mail address below. If you do not have a finished ad (of any size) prepared, you can submit the text and our printer will format it. Laser or positive paper proof: 150 lines per inch. (No negatives, please.) Deadlines: All ads must be submitted by the deadline date. Deadline dates are: the 15th of the month preceding the issue month (that is, 15 April for an ad to appear in the May issue). For the combined June/July issue the deadline is 15 June. For the combined Nov/Dec issue the deadline is 15 October. The Banner publishes ten issues annually: January, February, March, April, May, June/July, August, September, October, and Nov/Dec. I send out bills after the ads appear. For small ads that is necessary because I do not know exactly what size they are until I can measure them in the printed issue. Clip Art: If your ad is not pre-designed, you may want clip-art included to draw attention. There is no direct charge for clip-art, but it does make the ad slightly larger which means it does cost a bit more. When you submit your ad, please indicate clip-art or no clip-art.
