The Courier is Ballarat and district's leading provider of news and information. We have been keeping our readers informed and entertained since our first edition on June 10, 1867.

The editor of that first edition, Robert Clark, promised to "speak out boldly" on issues which impact on Ballarat. We continue to do that today and are as committed as ever to being a strong advocate for this region.

Our mission statement is "to build our community through a quality newspaper which is responsible and accountable".

Layout is terrible

The app designers need to look at other newspaper apps and study them. Why are news stories continued on another page as if I'm reading a hard copy paper? There is no link at the bottom of the page to click to bring up the rest of the story. You have to go back to the pictures of the individual pages of the newspaper, find the page the story is on and then find the 2nd part of the story you were reading. One link to an entire story is much more user friendly, especially on a mobile device!

Core Location Framework

Launch Services
macOS Launch Services is an API that enables a running app to open other apps or their document files, similar to the Finder or the Dock.Launch Services eliminates apps having to query the Finder to open an app, document, or URL for them.
