My name is Monika and at the age of 33 I have decided to leave my job in the corporate environment to pursue my life-long dream to travel the world in the search of my life purpose and happiness. Ever since I was a little girl I loved learning about different cultures and spending time in nature. I am a big romantic at heart and have a huge appreciation for the breath-taking nature, cultural heritage and the beauty of the souls around the world. I grew up in a poor family with two brothers and a sister, so my parents never really had much money to spend on fancy summer vacations. But thanks to my beautifully inventive and equally adventurous dad, I was lucky enough to experience different types of vacations. Holidays filled with imagination, laughter, and lots of story-telling. My dad would load us up on a train and off we went around the country. As we went through the train tunnels, climbed mountains and swam in the lakes, my dad would always have a story to share to make us laugh or scare the hell out of us. And so I too fell in love with writing and sharing my own stories. My summers were typically spent hiking in the mountains and cooling my aching feet in the waterfalls or visiting various museums and heritage places that my homeland had to offer. This is where I as a little girl developed my sense of adventure. My hunger for travel and a desire to one day live my dream to see the world has grown bigger by the year. I have worked hard to put myself through schools and University and even chosen a career within Tourism industry, which has been a real dream come true initially. I was committed to save hard to one day live my dream to travel the world. But this dream would soon come crashing down as I found myself more and more imprisoned in between four grey office walls and endless deadlines, often unable to see the daylight or take a proper lunch break. I didn’t know anything different at the time. I didn’t know I have a choice, so I worked hard to pay the bills and put some money aside for travel. It’s been 13-years in making and the corporate ladder took its toll on me with its never-ending to-do lists, targets and sleepless nights. Until one day, I said: “Enough is enough!” I have reached a point in my life where I decided to say good bye to the busy city life and swap it for something more meaningful and close to my heart… finding my own life purpose, fulfilling my own travel dreams and hopefully inspiring people around the world to find courage to live their dreams too. Don’t get me wrong, this really wasn’t an easy decision. I had plenty of doubts, worries, heartache and fears to overcome. And on top of that, the world is quick to tell you: “You are crazy for quitting your job and travel alone!” But, if there was one thing I was absolutely sure about, it was that I had to do this. It all happen so suddenly and only looking back over my last 2 years, I have realised how much has my life changed. And for the better! Now, I understand that at the time when all this ‘erupted’ I had a massive Kundalini awakening. This has pushed me to embark on a spiritual quest to purify my soul, purge anything that wasn’t serving my highest good and ultimately find my happiness. My turbulent awakening has affected every area of my life, from love, relationships with myself and others to the work that I now do. Having gone to ‘hell and back’ to find my bliss, I know how powerful it can be to overcome personal struggles and challenges that often hold us back. And so I have set up a Mind-Body-Sul website TraveliciousWorld.com that I would love to use as a platform for Conscious healing, Soul-enriching Travel, Inspiration, and Collaborations with like-minded Spiritually evolved warriors.
