Description:

We’ve rebuilt the Vue app from the ground up so it’s speedier, sexier and smarter than ever. Discover what’s on at your local Vue, browse screening times and book your favourite seats – all while on the go. Not sure what you’re in the mood for? Browse what’s currently showing, as well as what’s coming up.

There’s no more messing around with passwords or long card numbers – you can now log in using Touch ID and we’ve made it easy for you to scan and save your payment cards. And unless you're wearing an invisibility cloak, we’ll use GPS to locate your nearest Vue and tell you what’s showing.

If you say it’s okay, we’ll send you offers straight to your phone, chosen just for you. All our regular deals are up for grabs, including Mini Mornings (where kids and adults both pay £2.49), Meerkat Movies and discounted tickets on Super Days. Experience big screen intensity with our IMAX screenings or step inside the action with 3D. You can also upgrade to a VIP or Recliner, the best seats for full-focus, full comfort entertainment.

It’s not all behind-the-scenes stuff either – we’ve worked hard to pack the best bits of the big screen into your small screen, so the experience starts before you’ve stepped inside the venue.

Poor User Experience

I used to use the old Vue app to view movie times and book seats... I am a huge fan of Vue Cinemas but this update is a perfect example of bad user research and poorly executed UI design/programming. It has 'flash trendy design agency' written all over it. I found the new design difficult to read and extremely difficult to navigate, partially I think because it is too much for my iPhone 4s to process /render. It crashed the first 2 times I tried it and after the 3rd attempt it crashed out on the booking page and I threw my phone across the room in frustration! So despite all the slick visual design, it ultimately failed in providing a positive 'User Experience' as I found the UI confusing and was not able to reach my goal. I'd improve the design by making it clear that buttons ARE buttons and not just text, and I'd also use a more readable font face... plus speed test it on an iPhone 4s (they may be old but they are still a great phone and most other apps work AOK). That's some free UX consultancy...

What's happened?

The app no longer seems to work- I can choose the cinema and then it loads no film details at all... Prior to this I have used this app really happily almost every week since it's launch some years ago... Please fix this so I can change this review. Thanks Update- doesn't even load up now- just crashes the second it is opened- on iphone7!

Customer journey starts with the app...

...and that's where our journey finished. Spent our £85 at Cineworld instead.

Why do Apple not allow zero ratings?

This is a perfect example of an App that needs to be withdrawn and whoever sanctioned this version needs to lie down until their sanity returns (assuming they had some in the first place of course). It's terribly slow and far too hard to understand and an insult to the Apple 'ease of use' philosophy of its operating systems. If you are thinking of loading this app then I suggest you don't waste your time.

SooonPoorly written

This is a really terrible app. You find yourself trying to enter payment info on a really small screen. AVOID

Core Foundation Framework
Core Foundation is a framework that provides fundamental software services useful to application services, application environments, and to applications themselves. Core Foundation also provides abstractions for common data types, facilitates internationalization with Unicode string storage, and offers a suite of utilities such as plug-in support, XML property lists, URL resource access, and preferences.
Core Graphics
The Core Graphics framework is based on the Quartz advanced drawing engine. It provides low-level, lightweight 2D rendering with unmatched output fidelity. You use this framework to handle path-based drawing, transformations, color management, offscreen rendering, patterns, gradients and shadings, image data management, image creation, and image masking, as well as PDF document creation, display, and parsing.
Core Location Framework
The Core Location framework lets you determine the current location or heading associated with a device. The framework uses the available hardware to determine the user’s position and heading. You use the classes and protocols in this framework to configure and schedule the delivery of location and heading events. You can also use it to define geographic regions and monitor when the user crosses the boundaries of those regions. In iOS, you can also define a region around a Bluetooth beacon.

The Foundation framework provides a base layer of functionality for apps and frameworks, including data storage and persistence, text processing, date and time calculations, sorting and filtering, and networking. The classes, protocols, and data types defined by Foundation are used throughout the macOS, iOS, watchOS, and tvOS SDKs.
Launch Services
macOS Launch Services is an API that enables a running app to open other apps or their document files, similar to the Finder or the Dock.Launch Services eliminates apps having to query the Finder to open an app, document, or URL for them. The macOS Finder itself uses Launch Services to perform such tasks. Because the Finder performs no additional processing beyond calling Launch Services, any client using Launch Services for these purposes behaves identically to the Finder.

The UIKit framework (UIKit.framework) provides the crucial infrastructure needed to construct and manage iOS apps. This framework provides the window and view architecture needed to manage an app’s user interface, the event handling infrastructure needed to respond to user input, and the app model needed to drive the main run loop and interact with the system.
