ABOUT THE ACADEMY

Established in 1979, the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television is a national, non-profit, professional association dedicated to the promotion, recognition, and celebration of exceptional achievements in Canadian film and television.

Unifying professionals across Canada, the Academy is a vital and integral force that represents all areas of the film and television industries.

Our mandate:

- Honour outstanding achievements in Canadian film and television;
- Heighten public awareness and increase audience attendance, viewership, and appreciation of Canadian film and television productions through its national Award programs: The Canadian Screen Awards and Les Prix G_meaux
- Preserve and promote CanadaÍs film and television heritage;
- Provide wide range of industry-related professional development programs
