Description:

iRheology was created to allow readers of the Society of Rheology's (SOR) journals to access these articles on iOS devices. The app is compatible with iPod, iPhone and iPad. the users of the iRheology app will be able to read SOR article content online and store articles locally for later reading offline.

The application caches all content that it receives, and does require a wireless or wifi connection to obtain the content initially and to subsequently update that content.

As you navigate through the journal and want to download an article, content may be accessed via your individual subscription, an institutional subscription (via IP authentication) or by using a pay per view account. If you like an article, save it locally to your iPhone or iPod touch.

Best use case: Log in to your institution’s wifi network and open the iRheology app. Navigate through the journal and select the articles you are interested in. If your institution has access to the article, the PDF will be displayed on the screen. If you wish to save the article for reading or research later click the "Save Locally" button. The PDF is now saved locally on your Apple device and may be read at any time without needing a wireless or wifi connection.

Publications currently included:
- Journal of Rheology
- Rheology Bulletin
- SOR Nomenclature

Note: The app is best viewed in landscape.

iRheology

This app enhances your institutional access to JOR. If you are on campus, iRheology gives you pocket access to the JOR back to Volume 1. If off campus, an individual member subscription is often required to access JOR through iRheology. Some campuses do provide VPN access to their institutional journal subscriptions, and for these Universities, iRheology can even be used to access JOR through the institutional subscription off campus.
