This app is not functional. Every time I want to read one of my EL magazines I have to download it even though it has been downloaded previously with the app. It would be nice if the magazine could be downloaded and opened with another reader app such as iBooks.

I agree with previous post. I pay for premium online access and although I can sign in from my iPad, I cannot sign in from my phone. I get an error saying my email address cannot be found in the records (although it's the same one I use to sign in on my desktop as well as iPad). The app is updated on my phone and my phone works perfectly with all other apps. I'm reconsidering my online subscription because my phone is a major reading source for me when I'm out and about.

I am an ASCD member and would love to be able to read magazine articles through this app; however, it doesn't allow me to sign in. I contacted ASCD but didn't receive a resolve.

The description of the app reads, "View an enhanced version of our award-winning print magazine", however the word "enhanced" couldn't be farther from the truth as this app isn't even optimized for the display resolution of my phone. At the time of this review, it has been ten months since the iPhone 6 was released. That is ample time for any developer to integrate this basic feature, and it is especially unacceptable for a text-heavy magazine app to neglect it. If this app were truly free, then the lack of optimized resolution might be easily overlooked. However this leads me to another frustrating discovery about this app: It requires an annual subscription in order to be used at all. This important detail is mentioned nowhere in the app description. The app offers no in-app purchase for the required subscription. The app doesn't even provide a link to the website that handles subscriptions. It offers no help or direction whatsoever, leaving you all on your own to search the Internet for a way to give this developer your money. Furthermore, one has to wonder if the annual subscription is even worth paying for in the first place. After all, this app has not seen a single version update in one year and four months at the time of this review. Obviously that timespan reaches further back than the period of an annual subscription. This begs the question about whether or not this app is even being supported by its developer anymore. The content of this magazine is a different story, with the articles being kept current and the writing being of acceptable quality. I am just here to point out that if you wish to subscribe to this magazine, then it would be a mistake to sign up for the digital subscription instead of the print subscription. Until this app's developer shows some signs of life by giving the app a well overdue update, the digital subscription that is delivered through this app is such an enormous step down in both readability and product support that it's just not worth the price of the subscription -- and yes, that is even considering the marginal savings when the price of the digital subscription is compared to that of the print subscription. It's a shame really, as this app could be incredibly convenient if it was being maintained even the littlest bit by its developer. Unfortunately for the time being, it is so out of date that you just won't get the same bang for your buck if you choose to rely on it.

Excellent content & accessibility! I love that I can search a topic such as complex text, and then the reader allows me to go seamlessly from one article on complex text to another. The search pulls articles from past and present issues. Incredible!

Really? This is your app? Did anyone try it before you put it out? Open, crash, repeat. Any plans of fixing it? No hurry. We paying subscribers will wait.
