iOS version is glitchy and poorly maintained

I have used NetNewsWire on the Mac for many years, and watched it change hands and be resurrected, but this iOS version is a disappointment. Gestures only work a few times before becoming non-responsive, UI glitches abound, video content won't rotate into fullscreen, often crashes to home screen… I could go on. It does reliably sync my content with the desktop version, so I gave it an extra star, but is otherwise lacking in every way.

Syncing on the iPhone is inconsistent

This app works fine on my iMac and MacBook Pro. On the iPhone 6, however, syncing is a hit-and-miss affair. You simply cannot rely on it to consistently sync which articles you have read and which you have not. I read everything on my iMac and go to the iPhone and see numerous articles which I have already read. When, on the iPhone and in NNW, I choose Preferences > Cloud Sync > Advanced, and choose to Overwrite Data and copy data from the cloud server to NetNewsWire, I often have to do this over and over until, finally, NNW on the iPhone shows all articles read. Stay away from the iPhone version; stick with the desktop version

One of the oldest Mac apps, so they should know better

Black Pixel's draconian business model for NetNewsWire across platforms kills the app's usefulness on each platform UNLESS you pay for cross-platform licensing. And that is very expensive. Also, the iOS app is very picky about URLs, accepting almost none that I gave it, even though they all worked fine in another RSS app. iOS gestures are flaky. Overall, not a good value, and especially a disappointment given the NetNewsWire Mac legacy.

Laggy, slow... abandoned??

NetNewsWire is one of my heaviest-use apps, next to iMessage, Mail, and Safari. It is a true workhorse for me, and it started acting badly with iOS 10. Unfortunately, a year later and it's still laggy and slow, no updates from BlackPixel.... and I'm getting worried NNW is dead once again.

Neat UI but bug fixes very slow

NNW has a great UI but has some acknowledged bugs that have lingered 6+ months. I have no idea what Black Pixel is doing but it isn't fixing this app.

Crashes often, janky interface

This app crashes every time I use it. List views are especially frustrating; the scroll position jumps back several items. I've tried to give this a chance, but I'm going back to Reeder+Fever.
