Celebrity Fitness is South East AsiaÍs most popular and fastest growing fitness brand with a membership base of more than 150,000 and over 60 clubs in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. In Indonesia and Malaysia, we have the largest network of locations and are statistically the most visited fitness destination. The philosophy is simple: every member _ whom we affectionately refer to as our Celebrators _ is to be treated like a celebrity, and they deserve the best fitness experience that is personalized, exciting, cutting-edge and fresh. Founded in 2003 by John Franklin, Mike Anderson and J.J. Sweeney, and helmed by our CEO & President Director Martin Darby, the first Celebrity Fitness club opened in downtown Jakarta in February 2004 before growing into 11 cities from Surabaya, Medan to Bali, as well as all the key Jakarta shopping malls including Plaza Indonesia, Pondok Indah and Central Park. We entered the Malaysian market in 2005 with the opening of our first club at 1 Utama Regional Shopping Mall KL. Our Kuala Lumpur footprint has since grown to become the market leading fitness chain, fuelled partly by the acquisition of local competitor California Fitness. Celebrity Fitness clubs are now located throughout KL and the Klang Valley, including flagships in Mid Valley, Sunway Pyramid and Nu Sentral malls. In 2007, South East AsiaÍs leading private equity firm Navis Capital Partners acquired the majority shareholding, contributing consultancy, capital and management expertise. In 2012 we entered Singapore market and today we are SingaporeÍs rising star, opening a new club every few months across the island.
