On April 22, 2010, CenturyLink (CenturyTel, Inc., NYSE: CTL) and Qwest Communications (NYSE: Q) announced that their boards of directors approved a definitive agreement under which CenturyLink acquired Qwest in a tax-free, stock-for-stock transaction.
