Established in 1991, Farm Share is a 501 (c)(3) state-wide non-profit food pantry alleviating hunger by recovering, sorting, packing, and distributing fresh, nutritious food to those who need it most throughout Florida.
Farm Share distributes a combination of fresh recovered produce, USDA commodities, and other donated foods to FloridaÍs families in need. Farm Share has facilities in Homestead, Pompano, and Quincy _ all in the heart of FloridaÍs farming areas.
In fact, Farm Share is one of the largest food recovery operations in the nation. Since it's inception, it has recovered and distributed to FloridaÍs low-income families nearly 320 million pounds of nutritious food with a market value of more than $694 million.
Farm Share distributes the recovered food at no charge and without fees of any kind to low-income families and to about 500 nonå-profit partner agencies such as church food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, community centers and other non-profits throughout Florida. Farm Share is able to serve more of the rural and urban impoverished areas of Florida by not passing on the costs to these community agencies. Simultaneously to providing food for the hungry, Farm Share helps to provide a donation tax credit „ up to 200% of the foodÍs market value „ to FloridaÍs farmers and food-related businesses.
