Digital Trends App is a market research app that collects information on the use of the internet, other apps and the device, including personal data.
The app is solely intended to be used by invited and registered participants in GfK market research activities. The app is entirely functionless and does not collect any data unless activated by entering a personal activation code received separately from GfK. We recommend to not download this app if you are not taking part in an underlying GfK market research activity.
All GfK research participants are aware of what data GfK collects from them, how GfK uses it and how they can exercise their rights and withdraw from participating. This app can be uninstalled at any moment like any other app which will stop all data collection immediately.
The app uses a VPN in connection with proxy servers in order to record outgoing HTTP/S requests. Other data traffic, such as website content, is not stored or analysed. The VPN settings are automatically re-set when the app is uninstalled.
The app offers a "private mode" to temporarily interrupt the data collection
