Established in 1840, Harrison Spinks is a family-owned business which employs over 300 people and sells its range of beds under the Somnus, Spink & Edgar and Harrison brands and also manufactures Ôown labelÕ mattresses for major high street department stores. In addition, Harrison Spinks owns and manages a 300-acre farm with a flock of sheep and woodland in North Yorkshire to provide natural materials for its mattresses and associated products. The innovation in spring technology, investment in the farm and producing products using environmentally friendly materials has earned Harrison Spinks the highest of accolades from HM Queen Elizabeth II. In 2013 Harrison Spinks were the first company to be awarded both the QueenÕs Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development and in Innovation.
