Interprétation tactile de l’atlas anatomique d’Albinus*
Une création de l’atelier de Didactique visuelle de la Haute école des arts du Rhin.

Cette publication digitale permet de découvrir une lecture enrichie d’un atlas anatomique exceptionnel du XVIIIe siècle conservé à la Bibliothèque de Médecine et Odontologie de la Faculté de Médecine de Strasbourg. L’ouvrage peut être feuilleté du bout des doigts en association avec de nombreux jeux d’interactivité, usant de toute la gamme des médias : le dessin, la photographie, la vidéo, le son, la modélisation 3D.
Vous pourrez par exemple : disséquer les modèles en glissant votre doigt sur l’écran, découvrir un étrange rhinocéros présenté derrière les écorchés et voyager sur ses traces, identifier les plantes qui animent les décors. Cette publication combine une découverte ludique d’une œuvre inaccessible au grand public accompagnée par les commentaires de spécialistes reconnus, illustrés par de nombreux documents issus de différents fonds d’archives de la ville de Strasbourg.

Ce projet été imaginé par Olivier Poncer, André Bihler enseignants à la Haute école des arts du Rhin (HEAR), et Martial Guédron historien de l’art à l’Université de Strasbourg.
Il inaugure la collection « Tactile Studies** » qui décline une approche des Visual Studies par les outils tangibles. Ce travail de médiation numérique associe chercheurs et étudiants autour de l’étude d’ouvrages anciens.

Des étudiants d’année 4 de l’atelier de Didactique visuelle de la HEAR ont conçu et réalisé le design d’interactivité et l’interface de cette application et ont contribué à la réalisation, au traitement des médias et à leur mise en scène.
Ils ont participé à l’intégration et au montage de l’application qui a été finalisée par André Bihler et Olivier Poncer. Les textes originaux ont fait l'objet de différentes contributions sous la direction éditoriale et scientifique de Martial Guédron.

La publication digitale « Albinus » analyse en quatre chapitres, selon différents angles de vue, les thématiques et problématiques suivantes :
• Le projet éditorial
– Les auteurs : l’anatomiste Bernhard Siegfried Albinus et le graveur Jan Wandelaar.
– L’inscription de cet atlas comme ouvrage de référence dans l’histoire de l’anatomie, en particulier par rapport à l’œuvre de Vésale.
– La version numérisée intégrale de l’exemplaire du Service Commun de la Documentation de l’Université de Strasbourg.
– Une proposition de reconstitution du dispositif d’observation qui a servi à la représentation des squelettes et des écorchés.
• Le propos anatomique
– Plusieurs vues du modèle anatomique recombinées afin d’être disséquées du bout des doigts.
– L’analyse des différents modes de représentation et des systèmes graphiques didactiques utilisés, des légendes et des relations textes/images.
• Les planches anatomiques
– L’observation et l’histoire du rhinocéros qui figure en arrière plan de deux des modèles d’écorchés.
– L’identification et la symbolique des plantes représentées auprès des écorchés.
• Le graphisme
– Les caractéristiques techniques de l’ouvrage : l’origine du papier, la technique d’impression, la typographie et les ornements graphiques.
