Description:

RPharmS–iRx has been developed jointly by the Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and the School of Medicine of King's College London, in partnership with King’s Health Partners’ Pharmaceutical Sciences Clinical Academic Group. This project has been supported by a grant from the College Teaching Fund, King's College London.
BRAINS & AIMS and the associated mnemonics, were developed by Dr Andrew Webb as a structured and memorable approach, based on 10 key principles of prescribing chosen largely from the core learning outcomes suggested in the British Pharmacological Society (BPS) core curriculum.
The Top 100 Drugs is an evidence-based list of drugs/drug classes most commonly prescribed by Foundation Year Doctors on medical and surgical wards, and in general practice developed by Dr Andrew Webb and colleagues with the aim to focus on these to develop competence in prescribing (Baker E. et al., BJCP 2011). Other more specialist drugs are also included here, as you need to be aware of their important characteristics.

Medicines expert aid

This is a great app to centralise all the bits of information you gain about drugs. Well designed and easy to navigate.

It's ok but needs update

I wish I could add another custom folder so that I could add some of the not common drugs as well, and add an appropriate tag to it so it even shows up in the category section. Also in the alphabetical ordering, you could add "C" like the "S" for "custom" to separate it from the commonly prescribed ones.

Cannot log in

Do I need a specific membership type to log in? The app hasn't allowed me to log on any of my devices. I've tried the case sensitive surname too.

Good concept

As I lay in bed, I can still read my notes without having to fiddle with paper. I can even revise on long journeys etc. above all, I like the hyperlink concept. I have watched some useful videos and have read many useful articles so being able to link them to my notes would complete them. I also like the different categories such as asthma etc with all the relevant drugs. The one criticism I can make is the lack of info provided initially. I expected a very brief mode of action for each drug at the very least. Because it will take a while to add them in for each drug. Overall good concept. Also other students can share their knowledge with peers which I think would be very useful. I wish this app came out a year earlier, would have helped me a lot in revision.
