SANCCOB is a non-profit organisation that is specialised in oiled wildlife response services, including managing a wildlife branch; contingency planning, oiled wildlife response training; providing advice during an incident; implementing primary, secondary and tertiary wildlife response services (including the mobilisation of veterinary and seabird rehabilitation specialists, volunteer workforce, and existing relationships with suppliers for equipment and stock, etc.), especially during an incident where seabirds are impacted. SANCCOB has three response facilities in South Africa, namely Cape Town (Western Cape), Port Elizabeth and Cape St. Francis (Eastern Cape), and has experience in responding in remote locations and across international borders. SANCCOB is one of the members of the Global Oiled Wildlife Response System (GOWRS) and has excellent working relationships with many response organisations.
