Sydney Film Festival is one of the world’s longest-running film festivals, and is a major event on the New South Wales cultural calendar. The 12-day Festival screens feature films, documentaries, short films and animation from around the world in venues across the city including the State Theatre, Event Cinemas George Street, Dendy Opera Quays, Dendy Newtown, the Art Gallery of NSW, the Hayden Orpheum Picture Palace Cremorne, The Ritz Cinema Randwick, Casula Powerhouse, Hoyts Entertainment Quarter and SFF TV in Pitt Street. The Sydney Film Festival Hub returns to Sydney Town Hall, featuring exhibitions, talks, entertainment, a discount ticket booth and more.

The flagship program of Sydney Film Festival is the Official Competition, which was established in 2008 and celebrates ‘courageous, audacious and cutting-edge’ cinema. The Sydney Film Prize and $60,000 cash is awarded by a jury of five professionals to the winner among the 12 titles selected for the Official Competition. The Official Competition is endorsed by Federation Internationale des Associations de Producteurs de Films.

Sydney Film Festival encourages and supports excellence in Australian filmmaking via the Documentary Australia Foundation Award for Best Australian Documentary and the long-running Dendy Awards for Australian Short Films, as well as the Event Cinemas Australian Short Screenplay Award and the Audience Awards.

The Sydney Film Festival is supported by the NSW Government through Create NSW, via its tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW and by City of Sydney. Federal Government support is provided through Screen Australia.

Sydney Film Festival operates year-round via the Travelling Film Festival, Australia’s longest-running touring event, which visits 18 different regional locations around the country plus one at sea!

Great app but couple of suggestions

1. Would be good if could look at synopsis of film from "my tickets" especially for subscribers that have 50 films to look at. Not everyone selects films and then buys tickets, subscribers buy tickets and them select what they want to see. 2. Really annoying to get told thanks for vote after select rating especially when you have bought 4 subscriber tickets so have potential 200 to vote for. I think I know when I have made a rating.

Can't scan ticket codes

My wife bought some tickets which have a qr code...but I can't scan the code into the app
