Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Professional football first came to Tampa, Florida in 1976, two years after the Bay area was awarded the National Football League's 27th franchise. Beginning with a noble struggle in '76 - at a time when expansion teams were given few of the advantages they are given now - the Tampa Bay Buccaneers began a remarkable journey that is now well into its fourth decade. Through 37 seasons, the Buccaneers have seen good times and bad, huge home crowds and long road trips, last-second victories and strange defeats, first-round picks who have stumbled and undrafted free agents who have shined, coaching changes, uniform changes, a stadium change, even an ownership change that ushered in a new era of success. In January of 2003, at the end of the franchise's 27th season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers came home with the Lombardi Trophy after a 48-21 victory over Oakland in Super Bowl XXXVII. Though clearly the most glorious moment in franchise annals (so far!), that day is receding into Buc history as the team pursues new and greater triumphs. You can relive Super Bowl XXXVII, or any of the Buc's more than 500 games of the first 33 seasons in the History Section of our website - http://goo.gl/rmSvN . Contained in this section are records of every season, every game, every player, every Pro Bowler and every coach in team history, and more.
