Third Point LLC is an SEC-registered investment adviser based in New York City. The firm was founded in 1995 by Daniel S. Loeb, who serves as CEO and oversees all investment activity. Daniel Loeb has three decades of experience in the financial markets, with particular emphasis on special situation equities, distressed debt and risk arbitrage. Before founding Third Point, Daniel worked on both the buy and the sell sides for over a decade, gaining dedicated experience in distressed debt, high-yield bond sales, risk arbitrage and private investments. Immediately before starting Third Point, he was Vice-President of high-yield bond sales at Citigroup. Third Point employs a flexible, opportunistic investment style.
