The Vectorworks® Nomad app allows you to access your Vectorworks documents wherever you are—whenever you need them—with your mobile device. It gives you more freedom not only to share files, but also to make design decisions from any location. Changes you make to Vectorworks files are automatically synchronized to your private cloud library, allowing you to browse and share your latest designs from any web-enabled device.

Vectorworks Cloud Services saves time by freeing up local computing power. Use cloud technology to automate and decouple resource-heavy workflows, shifting calculations needed to generate sections, elevations, renderings, and BIM data to the cloud.

Whether you're in a meeting, on the job site, or on vacation, the Vectorworks Nomad app allows you to view, mark up, share, and synchronize your Vectorworks files across your devices and with your colleagues—all from the convenience of your mobile device.

• View and navigate 3D renderings of Vectorworks files in the cloud library, with optional 3D backgrounds
• View 3D models of Vectorworks files in a real-world setting, using augmented reality (AR) technology (requires an AR-compatible device)
• View rendered panoramic images of Vectorworks files
• Extend your cloud library through integration with Dropbox and Google Drive
• Share files with clients or collaborators
• Mark up PDF files with Text, Freehand, Oval, Rectangle, and Line tools and save the marked up files to the cloud library

The Vectorworks Nomad app is a part of Vectorworks Cloud Services, and is available to anyone who registers for a free account, as well as all Vectorworks Service Select members. Guest access is available for viewing shared files without creating an account.

Vectorworks Service Select members have access to additional features, such as:
• Increased storage capacity
• Manual or scheduled Sheet layer to PDF cloud processing
• Cloud processing options in Vectorworks
• Ability to measure objects in the PDF drawings generated on the cloud

Operating Prerequisites

Great app, Bad logistics behind usefulness

Ability to view vectorworks models on iOS devices is great. After loading a model, the fly throughs are seamless and intuitive for navigating it. For that the app would get 4 or 5 stars You need ios 7 or higher for app.Understandable if it's due to hardware limitations (original iPad can only be upgraded to iOS 5.1) The three star rating from me comes from a need for a vectorworks select subscription. In a world where BIM is supposed to encourage sharing and instant media integration with various parties, this app does the opposite. I have a subscription and app works great. But not having the ability to share this model easily with clients and non-production principals in my firm is a real downer, making possibilities I see for utilizing the app next to the cad software useless. I understand nemetschek company's stance on this is to probably promote users buying select subscriptions, but to me I see it more of a perk that's useless for its non-ability to share the information, as what I mentioned above.

Great and easy to use!

Pretty valuable app to have on-site.

This is a nice app to have on-site. When synced, and/or integrated with Dropbox, it provides me access to project PDF and VWX files that I can mark-up on my iOS device, save and then distribute. Combined with the Vectorworks Cloud Services desktop app, it'll take your sheet layer viewports and render them in the cloud freeing up CPU power. It synchs and then renders relatively fast. Looking forward to refined future releases.

AVFoundation
The AV Foundation framework provides an Objective-C interface for managing and playing audio-visual media in iOS and OS X applications.
Core Location Framework
The Core Location framework lets you determine the current location or heading associated with a device. The framework uses the available hardware to determine the user’s position and heading. You use the classes and protocols in this framework to configure and schedule the delivery of location and heading events. You can also use it to define geographic regions and monitor when the user crosses the boundaries of those regions. In iOS, you can also define a region around a Bluetooth beacon.
Core Foundation Framework
Core Foundation is a framework that provides fundamental software services useful to application services, application environments, and to applications themselves. Core Foundation also provides abstractions for common data types, facilitates internationalization with Unicode string storage, and offers a suite of utilities such as plug-in support, XML property lists, URL resource access, and preferences.
Core Graphics
The Core Graphics framework is based on the Quartz advanced drawing engine. It provides low-level, lightweight 2D rendering with unmatched output fidelity. You use this framework to handle path-based drawing, transformations, color management, offscreen rendering, patterns, gradients and shadings, image data management, image creation, and image masking, as well as PDF document creation, display, and parsing.
Foundation Framework
The Foundation framework provides a base layer of functionality for apps and frameworks, including data storage and persistence, text processing, date and time calculations, sorting and filtering, and networking. The classes, protocols, and data types defined by Foundation are used throughout the macOS, iOS, watchOS, and tvOS SDKs.
Launch Services
macOS Launch Services is an API that enables a running app to open other apps or their document files, similar to the Finder or the Dock.Launch Services eliminates apps having to query the Finder to open an app, document, or URL for them. The macOS Finder itself uses Launch Services to perform such tasks. Because the Finder performs no additional processing beyond calling Launch Services, any client using Launch Services for these purposes behaves identically to the Finder.

Quartz Core Framework
