The objective of the newspaper Verdens Gang is to be a party-politically and financially independent daily newspaper covering the whole of Norway. The main office is in Oslo, but there are local editorial teams in other Norwegian cities, and in some cities abroad. VG is owned by the Scandinavian media Group, Schibsted. VG aims to be the leading contributor of news, to entertain and to be useful. VGÍs core values is to be courageous, open and people-minded. Not bad, but it's not without its issues

Articles can only be read in horizontal landscape orientation on iPad. Ideally readers should have the option to read articles in vertical portrait orientation as well. That aside, the graphical user interface is not at all bad. I like the way pages visually are turned resembling reading a real physical paper edition. What needs to be corrected are the bugs leading to content occationally failing to load.

Eksperimentell?

Her har man tydeligvis bestemt seg for å være kreative og ikke så opptatte av brukeropplevelse. Tvunget breddeformat? Har ingen fått med seg at aviser leses på høydeformat. Og hele tiden risikerer man å havne på gale stede i avisen. Håpløst.

Laster rammeverk

Jeg rekker stort sett å klikke meg inn på én eller to artikler før den henger når jeg skal åpne en ny artikkel. Det står bare "Laster rammeverk", og det skjer selv om jeg reinstallerer appen. Utrolig irriterende, og det har vært sånn i lang tid. iPhone 6s.

Fyller opp

Noe må gjøres med lagring og sletting av nedlastede utgaver, slik appen er nå fyller den opp enheten med gamle vg+ utgaver som lastes ned automatisk. Fikk beskjed om at ipaden var full, syntes det var rart men viste seg at vg+ stjal 13,5 GB(!) fordi utgavene som lastes ned aldri slettes. Har samme problem på iPhonen der vg+-appen fort har spist 5gb av dyrebar lagringsplass.
