VIA Rail Canada operates the national passenger rail service on behalf of the Government of Canada. As an independent Crown Corporation established in 1977, the corporation provides travellers with safe, efficient and cost-effective passenger transportation in the country's two official languages. VIA consistently ranks as one of the most trusted transportation companies in Canada. In Leger MarketingÕs 2013 Top 100 Companies in Canada survey, VIA outranked every other transportation company. Wallet

Just like the other comments, we should be able to input the confirmation number of a ticket bought by someone else to get the boarding pass to add on the wallet app... Useless to me otherwise

If you want pricing don't bother

This app is a waste of time, much like their website. You can't get pricing anywhere without creating an account on this pile of garbage. You don't get my info Via - not until I decide if I will buy from you. Change it. Well via, guess what - your loss i'll give my money to an airline instead. My online privacy is worth more than trying rail. You can't visit their website in private mode either, if they can't spy on you (cookies / personal info) they aren't interested in you as a customer I guess. Its 2017 Via, we get our privacy invaded enough, you make money on paid fairs not our info, greedy greedy greedy. Too bad, I wanted to try it.

iPad app needs work

This app is great on the iPhone. 4 stars. The iPad version however leaves a lot to be desired. No landscape view. Portrait only. Not made for iPad, just iPhone app poorly ported. VIA can do better.

I want to like this app but...

It is very glitchy, and some features don't work. For example I tried to sign up for the Via Preference program through the app but to no avail. I finally called Via Rail, spoke to an agent who created an account for me. I then asked him some questions regarding the app in which he replied "I don't play around on apps sir..." - a pretty condescending and rude reply if you ask me. I ignored it. He had no idea how the app worked or anything about it... Very unprofessional...

Surprising exceeded my expectations

I frequently take the Via Rail train and almost never use this app, I've always found it to be too slow/glitchy. However, on my last trip I used the app for my booking/boarding pass and even to review the menu/meal selection for my business class trip! This app definitely got better. Only suggestion is to fix the "train status/schedule" it doesn't work at all.
