Description:

Pathology is a fun strategy game where the goal is to keep your token on the board, while trying to force your opponent's token(s) off the board. Pathology is easy to learn, quick to play, and each game is different from the last, providing a never-ending challenge.

The game starts with all the players' tokens along the edge of the board. The players then take turns placing tiles. The tiles have paths on them, and when placed, any tokens that are adjacent to the tile will advance along a path. You can rotate the tile to any orientation before you place it for maximum benefit.

You can play by yourself against up to 5 computer opponents, or up to 6 people can play at once by taking turns placing tiles. Or, any combination in between. Team up with a friend or two to eliminate the computers. Then, go completely cutthroat and emerge as the last one standing!

If you need to take a break, don't worry - Pathology remembers where everything is, and can resume the game right where you left off.

Caution: Addictive Fun!

Several years ago, my wife and I discovered a highly addictive board game called Tsuro. That game challenged players to create a path across a game board using tiles that feature four path sections while trying to send opponents off the board by connecting paths. This is an electronic version of that game. It captures the strategy of the board game with stunning graphics. It truly is an easy game to learn, but a tough game to master, all the while leaving the player wanting just one more round.

Smart game worthy of further development

This game is simple to learn and teach, and the gameplay is fast. Also the animation is smooth and simple, and the sound is good. That said, the scoring mechanism is not clear. Scores aren't visible during play, so you really don't know who is winning until the game is over. That's frustrating. Generally, if you're the last stone standing, you'll win; but that's not guaranteed if a "losing" player was particularly skilled/lucky in building a looping path. The graphic design of the game is not very creative. That doesn't hinder game play, but a home/menu page, and a high score page would be nice additions. Finally, although this game is a straightforward clone of the boardgame Tsuro, it has potential to be much more, if the developer chooses. The game could have different tile shapes (e.g. triangles or hexagons), for example, or a solo mode similar to Entanglement. Even with those caveats, this is a solid game, and I hope it grows in popularity enough to warrant further refinement.

Decent game but....

Every time the screen rotates the game loses its buttons and I can't play again without resetting iPhone which is frustrating. Fix this glitch and I'd play more.

Worst game ever!

I bought this game thinking that it looked interesting; and I was sadly mistaken. The game glitches, isn't really fun, and over-priced for its play time. Do yourself a favor and don't download this game.

Lacks Features

Pathology is a fairly interesting puzzle game but it could have been enhanced with option features. For example, if placing a tile would cause you to lose the game it could be highlighted in red instead of letting you commit suicide without any warning. It would also be nice to highlight the lines each player has traveled across as a way to see the score during the game instead only after the game ends. Being able to zoom in and out of the map would make it easier to see connections and prevent misplacement.

Good game, hope for a next release

I enjoy the board game Tsuro, and like being able to play on the iPhone. There are a couple of bugs and i would like network play, but I hope there will be a future release that will add those.
