The app makes it easy to adjust bass, mid-tone, and treble frequencies. Volume adjustments are limited compared to the native iPhone accessibility settings. I have two major complaints about the app: 1) The app is not user friendly so having to make adjustments while driving is a lot like texting and driving. They need a better use interface or ability to make aid adjustments quick and easy. 2) One of my hearing aids kept disconnecting from the app and could not be relied upon. I uninstalled the app and now the hearing aids work better than ever! I can also adjust settings or change programs using the iPhone Accessibility settings far faster than I could with the Widex Beyond App. If you are having technical issues with your Beyond aids, try uninstalling the app and using the native iPhone client.

My partner and I both have new Beyond hearing aides and have used this app for 4 months now. The update did help sightly, and I do like the phone streaming to my hearing aides, when it works. I like being able to configure and save programs myself, and the Beyond is making it easier to hear in different settings. But the problems with the app include regularly losing the connection with one or both aides, sometimes requiring me to start over and re-pair the aides, and the unpredictability of it. I answer a call and expect to hear, and find I do not, so I am fumbling around to change to phone audio, or choose to take a call through the hearing aides when in the car and the call will go to car bluetooth and back again randomly. I even have one app on the phone which, when used, will cause the hearing aides to turn on and off, playing the initializing message again and again. Battery life on the aides is not as good as with my prior set of Oticons. I assume it has something to do with the app connection. Once the batteries get low, but still functional, the connection to the app will often drop. The details on the app store say this is iPad compatible, but it apparently is not, based on my tests using the latest version of IOS. Hope Widex keeps improving this setup, since I hope to have the hearing aides for a long time, and do like the app when it works properly.

The hearing aids as hearing aids are wonderful. I can hear more clearly and in more situations than with my 4-1/2 year old Widex Clear. I can stream music in a full dynamic sound range, in stereo. This app? Not so marvelous. My hearings lose contact with one another frequently. Following a streaming session, the button on the hearing aid used to switch programs doesn't work properly and voices are muddy. You have to reboot the hearing aids. It connects with Bluetooth devices that you haven't asked it to connect with; it doesn't stream sound from the unrequested device, but it does diminish the sound quality if you're listening to a conversation. Not clear if these are problems with the Beyond app, or with iOS, or the integration between the two, or the hardware itself. The app interface is cumbersome -- too many clicks to perform common operations. Everything I hoped for. Great sound quality. All programs do exactly as supposed. Easy to control level of sound. I am especially pleased with the clarity of speech I can now hear. As a sales exec I make presentations to large groups. It is so much easier to understand questions posed within large rooms. I take a lot of cell calls daily. Incredibly cool to hear those calls clearly on blue tooth directly into my hearing aids and carry on a conversation with ease.

I like the ability to access the programs installed to my hearing aids to shape the sound I hear. I have severe tinnitus. But I have had problems with this app. About half the time when I adjust volume, it will adjust one hearing aid only, when the settings are clearly set to adjust both together. Remaining battery life shows 100% until battery goes critical, then shows 0%; no good! Occasionally won't locate one of hearing aids. None of this happens in IOS accessibility settings.. NONE!

Ever since I updated to this current version, the app continually prompts me to connect my hearing aids to Bluetooth when they are not connected. It is random and annoying because I have to tap for it to go away. I can't find anywhere to turn this off or change it to a banner notification instead of pop up.
