Different from other heritage events, Heritage Days strives to present our history in all its forms. From the traditional owners of the land to our city’s wonderful architecture, there are stories of amazing characters in government, society and behind the buildings. Also stories about our gardens and their importance to the community; not only for their beauty, but also for the production of food in the Swan River Colony. The arts and their evolution are not forgotten either, nor is our medical history or religion. All provide stories that show us how Perth as we know it today came to be.
An exciting program, including many new activities, is planned for this year. Visitors will have the chance to view an exhibition of art works owned by Royal Perth Hospital in the rarely seen Kirkman House. There will be thought provoking indigenous tours and tours of the Supreme Court building in Stirling Gardens.
