AFTRS is Australia's national screen arts and broadcast school and is regarded as one of the top film school's in the world. AFTRS opened to students in 1973 with the first intake of 12 students including directors Gillian Armstrong, Phillip Noyce and Chris Noonan.
Delivering advanced teaching and learning outcomes specifically for the screen arts and broadcast industry, AFTRS is the only institution of its kind in Australia and was recently voted by the industry bible The Hollywood Reporter as one of the top 25 film schools in the world _ the only Australian institution to make the list.
