Supporting Returned Peace Corps Volunteers who are serving in or running for political office
Inspired by the idea that a Peace Corps volunteerÍs service does not end after two years but continues throughout our lives. PC to Politics goal is to support both current & prospective RPCV Political leaders running for office at local, state and federal level. Peace Corps to Politics hopes to inspire both present and future RPCV political leaders to make a difference in public policy by using the ideals they learned as Peace Corps Volunteers.
Our Mission: PC to Politics promotes, supports and elects returned Peace Corps Volunteers to political office.
Our Vision: President John F. Kennedy hoped that Peace Corps volunteers would come back from their service with a new perspective of the world and ñpromote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans.î
PC to Politics interprets this goal as volunteers taking what they have learned about the world and using it to serve our US communities Peace Corps volunteers serve because they want to change the world for the better and Peace Corps to Politics believes we can still change the world and our country for the best even after service. By serving as political leaders at the local, state and federal level, we can have a crucial impact on US public policy.
Our Process
Peace Corps to Politics works to identify returned Peace Corps volunteers who are running for office and demonstrate pride in their Peace Corps Service.
We support Peace Corps alumni who are both running for office and are currently in office who emulate the Peace Corps ideals we learned as volunteers in the way they run their campaigns and changes they wish to make.
We support Peace Corps alumni regardless of political party, as long as they strive to emulate the Peace Corps ideals. We use social media, in-person events to promote these leaders.
