Founded in 1979 by Mr. Johanes Farial, PT. Delami Garment Industries marked its start in the fashion and manufacturing industry by producing men's trousers for the domestic market under the brand names WOOD and John Far. In 1984, the company took over the brand Executive 99, at the time the market leader in the men's trousers category. This savvy move saw the expansion of PT. Delami into one of Indonesia's leading garment producers.
In 1987, PT. Delami continued its expansion and began exporting products to USA as well as becoming the supplier of established clothing brands for golf namely La Mode, Aureus, and PGA Tour. Soon, the company's performance attracted a joint partnership with C Itoh Trading House of Japan in producing golf pants for the thriving US market. The European market was tackled next, with PT. Delami becoming the producer of such well known brands as Eddie Bauer, Nike, Red and Green, The Northface, and Marks & Spencer, among others. The company also started manufacturing female clothing garments for the Japanese market.
In 1994, PT. Delami attained the production, marketing and distribution licence of Wrangler Jeans for the Indonesian market. The company's position and presence in the domestic market was further strengthened by the introduction of the ladies' collection under the brand Executive 99, which later became simply known as The Executive.
In 2000, PT. Delami earned the prestigious recognition of international quality standardization of ISO 9001. That same year saw the company becoming the licence holder of Wrangler Jeans for Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam.
