Description:

As many people are looking to take iPad seriously as a everyday-use device, web developers are lacking many tools necessary to use the platform to develop on. Web Tools brings three tools that front-end web developers need every day in 2017: a scalable web browser, an inspector, and a console.

With Safari on iPad, you can only test a site at full-width. Web Tools allows you to test any width you need, even if that width is larger than the screen you are on.

Apple has an Inspector for iPad only if you plug into a Mac. But if you don't have a Mac, finding that styling bug becomes tough. Web Tools provides an easy way to drill through your HTML and see all CSS rules and attributes applied to each element. Easily add, edit, and delete attributes as you would on a desktop browser.

This is just the start of Web Tools. More tools are coming in the near future.

Looks promising but lacks key features

My use of the inspector on my Mac depends heavily on the ability to click an element on the page and inspect it. I also tend to use Find to find references to particular strings within HTML/CSS. Too bad, as the core UI and features look solid.

Not a viable alternative to in browser tools

iOS is badly in need of something to fill this feature gap. This is the closest thing I have found, but still no cigar. It has a lot further to go before it becomes viable.

Needs work

This app is pretty useless. Firebug does so much more and it's free. Update: 6/12/16. 4 months without an update on an app that has severe usability problems. Perhaps the developer isn't making enough money on this to warrant an update. In any case, do not buy.

Missing essential stuff

No selector. I cant select an element on the page and see the html for it. Doesnt show css. Shows only computed styles which is useless.

Promising start

Having an inspector is a great start but needs building upon as as it stands i think the price is much too high, i'm not sure i'll even use it until some of the below are implemented - changing base font size should really affect attributes - needs ability to select an element via clicking on page element, rather than via code tree. This is no good when your refreshing to check change or on complex templates - element highlighting is way inaccurate. As in i don't think the blue box was right once - on screen plus minus for attributes such as width etc would be great working in iOS. Keyboard support still isn't there - at 7.99 javascript console should NOT be additional purchase for it, simply because it's not really worth 7.99 as is, it's better than nothing but feels more like it's useful for reading rather than writing Keep it up though
