Poorly functioning app!!

They have mostly everything right with the layout but the delivery is downright irritating, I usually end up just leaving frustrated. Besides the endless crashes, every time you select an item and then go back to the complete list of items you have to start back at the very top...urg!! Not only do you have to scroll all the back down to were you left off but the time it take for the items to load while scrolling is enough to make you just go to EBay or Craigslist! For such a fine looking app I can't even imagine how they missed so poorly on the functionality.. It would also be nice to see the location of the individual items as your searching so you don't have to go all the way to the shipping page for each one to find it out (then start over at the top of the search as you go back). As with other reviewers I find some of the shipping cost downright outrageous... $230 to send a $40 item!! I want to like this site, I could actually love it very easily, but they're making it impossible...!

Issues

When click link in email takes me to safari instead of the app. No prompt to open in app. Followed items doesn't update correctly when bids change. Even changing to different part of app doesn't update it. Have to go out and back in for it to show current bid. Having to scroll back to where you were when you look at an item and click back is a pain. When you are looking at a Followed item and your phone locks or you switch to another app the item is no longer followed. So you have to find the item again to mark it as follow. It also removes the fallow flag on recently followed items since it last synced. This prevents me from bidding on some items because I don't always find everything on time to bid. I have an iPhone 6 Plus with latest iOS.

App crashes and takes a long time to load

I love the idea of EBTH and used the website regularly until the app came out. I will be going back because this app is virtually unusable. Frequent crashes when you swipe to view pics of items, high freight costs (although those include handling and packaging of items so I guess they don't really have a bulk factory discount like Amazon does), and long load times for descriptions. Also, sometimes it fails to load an item but does allow you to back out but it jumps to the top of the sale listing - majorly annoying when you near the last items of the sale!! The tech issues are rarely present with the website so I can only conclude it's the app that stinks. Save yourself the time and irritation and stick to the website.

Company takes advantage of "pickup" option

I won 4 items I was going to pick up and EBTH sent me a text reminder the day of pickup with the times. Only problem? The time was Eastern standard time and I live in mountain standard time. This caused me to miss my pickup, and now they want to charge $252 to ship 4 items and won't let me schedule a new pickup despite their horrible text service. They are packing the items up for the next 2 weeks right next to me but I can't arrange for any time to pick them up apparently. Given the situation, they should understand and cut me a break this one time. That's good customer service. But all they care about it money. Beware.

Annoying quirk

Please fix this: when I am scrolling down a long page, I want more information on an item. Great, now I click the back arrow and it briefly takes me back to where I was, then waaaay back up. It's really annoying to have to constantly scroll back down and try to find where I left off. So annoying that it is easier to just leave. And I have bid on lots of items. Please fix this! And newbies, always check the shipping rate before you bid!
