With its two business sectors of Retail and Distribution, Gebr. Heinemann is one of the most important players in the international travel market. In 1879, the family-owned company began with the duty-free and tax-exempt wholesale of tobacco products and spirits, which were soon supplemented with perfume and cosmetics as well as luxury accessories, confectionery and souvenirs.
Today, we have 6,000 employees and supply around 1,000 customers in over 100 countries, including airlines, airports and diplomats. In addition to distribution, Gebr. Heinemann is active in the retail sector with 320 Heinemann Duty Free & Travel Value shops, licence-managed brand boutiques and concept stores at a total of 77 airports in 28 countries. We also operate shops at border crossings and on international ferries and cruise ships.
In this way, we reach over 40 million travellers every year. In order to be able to surprise them in different ways journey after journey, our purchasing department is always on the lookout for exclusive premium products. And on the subject of surprising: Did you know that our logistics centres are some of the most modern in Europe thanks to innovative high bay warehouse and handling technology? And that our customised IT systems set standards when it comes to the control of goods flows spanning different distribution channels?
Gebr. Heinemann is always looking to the future Ð and is thus proving that tradition and innovation are not mutually exclusive. Do you see things in the same way? Then join our family company. You'll find information and our current job openings here:
