Hillsboro Aero Academy, formerly Hillsboro Aviation, is one of the largest airplane and helicopter training schools in the United States. Thousands of pilots have graduated from our accredited programs and go on to fly for companies all over the world. Learning to fly is an amazing experience, and we have the knowledge, courses and equipment to you get off the ground as soon as possible. Our students received individualized instruction in a one-on-one environment which allows us to customize the training for every student.
We have been training pilots since 1980, and as an FAA-approved flight school we conduct the training under the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 141 and 61. AirmanÕs Proficiency Center (APC), a division of Hillsboro Aero Academy, is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). We are also approved by the U.S Department of Veterans Affairs.
Hillsboro Aero Academy has partnered with Portland Community College as well as Embry-Riddle Aeronautical UniversityÕs Portland Center to offer two and four-year degree programs so our students can take their education even further.
All of our aircraft are meticulously maintained and our instructors are highly experienced and dedicated to teaching you the skills you need to fly. Our school campuses are located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest which offers our students the chance to experience a wide range of weather conditions and challenging terrain to help prepare them for their future careers. These flying conditions give our students the opportunity to learn how to handle a variety of situations and become more skilled pilots.
