Namlo International
Namlo International is a non-profit dedicated to improving the lives of people in developing countries through grassroots and market-driven approaches. Core Principles: This is how and why we do what we do. Respect - We are guests in their house. Justice - We care about the root causes, not just the surface. Equity - Because it shouldnÍt matter what you look like or where you live. Transparency - We are guided by our integrity, authenticity, and accountability Opportunity - It doesnÍt exist for everyone, but it should. Resilience - How high do we bounce? Empower - If we can help, why not? Impact - The result matters. A lot. Committed - Enough said. Celebrate - Sing and dance like nobody's watching Vision Statement: Namlo International envisions a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive in their own homes and communities. Mission Statement: Namlo builds long-term partnerships with vulnerable communities to support them in developing sustainable solutions that lead to greater educational, economic, and nutritional well-being. Three Program areas: 1. Education - All children deserve access to a good education; Namlo believes that education is foundational to human development and has a ripple effect with benefits in health, economic development, and poverty reduction. 2. Health and Nutrition- All people deserve access to good health through adequate nutrition, water, and good hygiene. 3. Economic Development - All people deserve the opportunity to earn an income that supports themselves and their families for the betterment of the community. Engagement Model: Before we enter a community, we evaluate the proposed project against these 7 questions to determine if it is appropriate for Namlo to pursue the proposed project. Can this project be done in a sustainable way? Does this project promote gender equity? Can this project be done in a cost effective way that will not be prohibitive for the community to community to continue on their own? Does this project rely on the current community assets? Does this project create high impact? Does this project include a clear exit strategy? Does this project promote ecosystem resilience? What are the unintended consequences?
