Not that useful

It could be really useful but it isn't. Things it needs but doesn't have: - ability to show current ticket with a barcode for scanning (currently need to use the email instead) - ability to add ticket to wallet and/or show on lock screen at time of the film showing - ability to view membership details e.g. how many free tickets left - passcode or Touch ID so that you don't have to enter your username and password every time (which are different from your membership number) - quick booking feature that remembers seat preferences - credit card recall so don't have to input each time - could have notifications of latest releases that match with your preferences when they come out in your local or preferred cinema Useful things it does have: - scannable barcode for your membership number which saves you having to carry the actual card around - local / favourite cinemas list - ability to book films, but this is still (just about) easier on website (although the website is pretty bad too)

Doesn't work!

Got as far as selecting the cinema and film, and then it crashes out :( Back to the website!

No way to login

I've been a Picturehouse Member for 2 years. The app doesn't recognise me. Great idea but poorly implemented.

Well that's a terrible app

What a horrific user experience - consistently faulty, which begs the question why release such a poorly designed app, until you're ready with the final one?

Metal
Render advanced 3D graphics and perform data-parallel computations. Get fine-grained access to the GPU while minimizing CPU overhead. The Metal Framework provides extremely low-overhead access to the GPU, enabling incredibly high performance for your sophisticated graphics rendering and computational tasks. Metal eliminates many performance bottlenecks—such as costly state validation—that are found in traditional graphics APIs. Metal moves all expensive state translation and compilation operations out of the critical path of your most performance sensitive rendering code. It provides precompiled shaders, state objects, and explicit command scheduling to ensure that your application achieves the highest possible performance and efficiency. Graphics, compute, and blit commands can be used together seamlessly and efficiently. Metal is specifically designed to exploit modern architectural considerations, such as multiprocessing and shared memory, to make it easy to parallelize the creation of GPU commands.
Open Graphics Library ...
The Open Graphics Library (OpenGL) is used for visualizing 2D and 3D data. It is a multipurpose open-standard graphics library that supports applications for 2D and 3D digital content creation, mechanical and architectural design, virtual prototyping, flight simulation, video games, and more. You use OpenGL to configure a 3D graphics pipeline and submit data to it. Vertices are transformed and lit, assembled into primitives, and rasterized to create a 2D image. OpenGL is designed to translate function calls into graphics commands that can be sent to underlying graphics hardware. Because this underlying hardware is dedicated to processing graphics commands, OpenGL drawing is typically very fast.
