Curzon is a BAFTA award winning integrated film company incorporating Distribution, Cinema, Home cinema and Production.
Curzon owns, operates and programmes 20 venues, encompassing 42 screens across the UK, specialising in curated, quality international and British cinema, as well as Q&As, events and special performances. Each cinema has its own identity and is designed with respect to the heritage of the local area.
The first Curzon cinema in Mayfair was opened in 1934 and developed a reputation as a venue where you could see the latest in foreign language cinema. The most recent venue, Curzon Aldgate opened in East London in January 2017.
Curzon's distribution label is Curzon Artificial Eye and was founded in 1975 to release critically acclaimed films to discerning audiences. Since our inception we have championed the work of towering auteurs as well as developing new talent, and have worked with world class directors from Michael Haneke (Amour), to Gasper Noe (Love 3D), as well as Lenny Abrahamson (Frank), Lars Von Trier (Nymphomaniac) and Clio Barnard (The Selfish Giant).
Curzon Artificial Eye has been part of the historic Curzon group since 2006. Continuing in the pioneering spirit of both companies, Curzon launched the Curzon Home Cinema service in 2010, which is now available in over 6 million homes, offering audiences nationwide the opportunity to watch films when and how they want to.
As of 2015, Curzon Cinema's became the first commercial cinema group in the UK to pay Living Wage and in 2016 we were accredited by the Living Wage Foundation.
In 2017 Curzon won a BAFTA for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema.
